Another Day

Carmen had yet another up and down day, another couple steps forward, and then a couple steps back. If you look at last night's post you'll see that looking at the numbers will drive you crazy. She can't seem to catch a break, but she's holding on still, and in reality that is the most important thing.

I got some rest today, then D and I went and raced some Go-Carts. Trying to maintain as much as a normal life as we can.

Tomorrow is another day and lets hope and pray for some positive changes.

Mike

    For Carmen,
ALthough we've never met face-to-face, I feel like we have been friends for years. You're posts, pics and comments are always so uplifting, encouraging, and funny -you make me smile and laugh!
Even though we are literally on opposite sides of the country, I pray that you feel me by your side cheering you on!

Heavenly Father, I know that you are with Carmen always, I ask that your presence bring peace, comfort, ease, and rest for her family. Lord God, give knowledge and wisdom to all the doctor's, nurse's and technicians for her care. We know that you are in control and that if Carmen needs to be at another facility - You will make it happen. In the name of Jesus, I ask that you place Your healing hands upon her lungs, that Your will be done, for all glory belongs to You. You are the Jehova Rapha, the Almighty Physician, by His striped - we are healed! Amen

To Carmen's family, you probably don't have a clue who I am. Carmen & I met on the scleroderma digest & MySpace. I lived in Marathon (Keys) from 05/73- 10/95 & we wondered if our paths may have crossed at some point (even tho I'm old enough to be her momma LOL!) I too have diffuse scleroderma. I so admire your daughter, sister et al. She has obviously been raised by a very loving family and I know she loves her son and husband with everything within her. I'm thankful to Holly in our digest group for posting this blog site, I'll be checking it daily.

    God Bless,
    Cindi Va Bch VA

    Hi Mike,

One more day down......Thank you again for keeping all of us up to date with Carmen. Please let her know that we are praying for her and her speedy recovery. I am also glad that you were able to go out and have some fun with D today....I am sure that you both needed that. I will again pray for all of you during this time and pray that Carmen is moved and that the infection is healed so she can be put back on the transplant list. Thank you for being such a wonderful husband to Carmen and such a great friend to all of us who continue to read and pray for all of you. Please give Sharon and Marty, as well as your parents a special Thank You from us, I know that you couldn't have a better family than all of them. Please let them know that we are praying for them too. I miss you all and love you lots.

    Michelle, Dave and Connor

    Mike, Carmen, and Dom,

We are thinking of you often out here in CT. I wish that we could be there to help. We love and miss you guys and are praying for Carmen's recovery. She is such a vibrant and fun loving person.

Mike, Craig and I were laughing at your comment about watching the numbers. WHen Jayden was in the hospital this year at the Yale PICU we went through the same thing. The numbers on the monitors, and trying to think of a better combination of settings for the vent will drive you CRAZY!!

Keep your head up, we both know to an extent what you are going though right now, and it is so emotionally draining. Try and get rest, and breaks from the hospital as much as you feel comfortable doing.

We are praying for you and your family.

    Love,
Trina, Craig, Zach, Kai, & Jayden Brown
